McCAD software compatible with Windows 95/98/ME/2K/NT/XP?
Win95 is no longer
supported. All current versions of McCAD software are compatible
with Windows 98/ME/2K/NT/XP.
McCAD software is
compatible with which Macintosh systems?
Most current Macintosh
versions of McCAD software will run on OS9 and later as well as
OSX 10.1.4 and later. Active support for OS9 has stopped. Eventually
only OSX and later operating systems will be supported.
Can you move database
files between Macintosh and Windows versions easily?
Yes! McCAD is the only
professional EDA tool set which offers a robust line of software
tools which allow the designer to float his design database between
the popular MS Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
Is it necessary to
have separate licenses if I need to run on both Macintoshes as well
as MS Windows OSs?
Yes. Unfortunately,
the operating systems are very different.
Is Technical Support
available for McCad Products?
Technical support is
optional. There are several significant benefits to being on an
Extended Support Contract. One of the most important is that you
usually get new upgrade versions for free. This is a lot cheaper
than just buying the upgrade as a registered user.
Additionally, should
you need assistance, First Tier technical phone and Email support
is also available to users on Extended Support Contracts. Call
for details.
Users on Extended Support
are eligible periodically for significant discounts on other McCAD
products. Call for details.

General support is
now available to all McCAD users on-line via email. Simply include
your serial registration number with your E-mail addressed to
Tech Support at <<support@mccad.com>>.
Can users who have
the Free EDS Lite get help?
Yes, but only by email
and the extent of support will be limited unless the user subscribes
to a support contract.
Can I run McCAD
design software on older Mac hardware?
As of Sept. 15, 2002
McCAD software tools no longer support OSs older than 9.0 and
no longer run on 68k hardware.
Can I run McCAD
design software on older Windows hardware?
If the hardware will
support the desired OS and we support that OS, then McCAD software
should run.
Does McCAD offer Educational
discounts?
Yes. Qualified educational
institutions are eligible for educational discounts. Call for
specific details on this program.
